"I began practicing yoga at home several years ago, moving to group classes in 2018 and eventually getting my 200hr YTT in 2020. Since then I have completed a Warriors at Ease training geared towards working with Active Duty Military and Veterans, a Meditation Training and finished my 300hr YTT. My practice has had such a huge impact on my day-to-day life living with an auto-immune disorder and has been so beneficial that my goal is now to pass those benefits on to others, proving that yoga can be accessible to all. I love that yoga can bring you the whole spectrum of exercise from relaxation and stretching to a powerful core and strength workout depending on what you need for that day, it constantly surprises me and shows me what I'm capable of on a daily basis"

"I have dabbled in yoga since the early 2000’s. Being a collegiate athlete and graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, staying active and in the gym has always been a passion of mine. I pursued a career in personal training for several years after until my husbands military career took us overseas to Italy. When I became pregnant with our daughter I really started to focus on my yoga practice and became more in tune with my body. My true love for yoga ultimately peaked a few years ago after competing in a body building competition in Tokyo Japan. I started to downward spiral and was left needing to find my purpose again, knowing that I had to be a positive influence for my young daughter. Yoga has healed me physically, emotionally and mentally in so many ways and for that I am am forever grateful. I am beyond thrilled to share my love and light with everyone in this community, and I can’t wait to see you on the mat for a challenging yet rewarding flow! Namaste"
"I moved to Okinawa in 2019 with my family.
I attended my first yoga class in 2018 after a knee injury stopped me from running and instantly fell in love with the practice.
I previously worked in the medical field for 20 years and was feeling stressed out and unfulfilled. Moving to Okinawa gave me the opportunity to reinvent myself and dedicate my time to strengthen my practice. I was amazed at the positive mental and physical changes and decided I wanted to share the gift of yoga with others.
I got my 200hr hatha vinyasa certification through the Okinawa yoga studio in 2021"

“My yoga journey began 8 years ago after going through a divorce. I was always active as a dancer and gym training, but found myself depressed and wanting something more. I like to say yoga found me because it was definitely not something I would have tried. I received my training right before the pandemic and have been teaching ever since. Yoga means so much to me. It is a way of life that I hold dearly. It literally saved my life.
I focus heavily on linking breath with movement, body awareness, and body positivity. When I'm not practicing yoga, I can be found dancing Salsa and Bachata, as well as Ballet and Kizomba or writing"
G'day! I'm Sam, I'm from Australia, but I've called Okinawa my home for 11 years. I was a huge yoga sceptic for years and would roll my eyes when people told me that it would help fix some of my problems. Then, I finally tried a class and learnt the errors of my stubbornness, as I found myself both less stiff and less stressed. I also credit yoga with helping me get closer to a more positive body image. However, my initial scepticism has helped me form my yoga teaching philosophy; For me, yoga should be accessible, fun and straightforward. I like to create fast strong dynamic flows, as these have always helped me get out of my head and focus my mind. When I'm not doing yoga, I like to run, SUP and read.
"3 years ago I got into yoga shortly after having my 3rd child. I was riddled with back pain, pain in my feet, hips, knees…you name it. I was in constant pain. After dealing with Lyme disease and the aches post child birth, I decided to give yoga a try. Within just a few shorts weeks of practicing yoga, I was feeling better. The better I felt, the more I wanted to do yoga. I fell in love with all of it, and decided to join a yoga teacher training program to deepen my practice. I am passionate about body positivity and showing people that you can be plus size and active too!"
